Presov Region: Firefighters Busy Combatting Floods

Presov/Bratislava, 2 June (TASR) - Due to strong afternoon storms, firefighters in the Presov Region have had to respond to incidents in multiple locations, with the duty officer of the Regional Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Corps in Presov confirming to TASR that most call-outs occurred in the vicinity of the regional capital. In most cases, rescue actions involved pumping water out of flooded buildings. Professional firefighters are busy in several villages in the Presov District, and volunteer fire brigades are assisting in the villages of Zupcany, Krizovany, Brezany, Rokycany, Chminianska Nova Ves, and Vydumanec. Volunteers are also helping directly in the city of Presov. The Presov regional police issued a warning on social media that road access is limited in some areas of the Presov District. mf
