Bratislava, 31 May (TASR) - Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) is scheduled to travel to Spain on Sunday (1 June) for a foreign working trip, ministry's press department told TASR, noting that this is the first bilateral visit of the head of Slovak diplomacy to Spain in almost ten years.
Blanar will aim to deepen political dialogue and economic cooperation. "Slovakia and Spain have been strengthening their defence activities for a long time and are also linked by their strategic interest in expanding economic cooperation with the countries of the Global South, including the countries of the EU's southern neighbourhood and Latin America," stated the ministry.
Blanar will be received by his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares as well as by head of the senate's foreign relations committee Jose Ignacio Landaluce Calleja.
