San Francisco/San Diego, 30 May (TASR) - Slovak Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) held talks in the United States this week with American technology companies and a university in San Diego, California regarding cooperation in introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into education, TASR learnt from the ministry's communications and marketing department on Friday.
"The field of artificial intelligence is constantly evolving, and if we want to be a leader in bringing AI into education, it's important to team up with technology companies that are symbols of the AI revolution. They offer not only proven models but also the latest tools, which could benefit not just education, but Slovakia as a whole," said Drucker.
At Scale AI's headquarters in San Francisco, the Slovak delegation was shown new AI developments for education, including 'MASK', a tool that tests whether AI models remain truthful under misleading information. The Slovak ministry sees such tools as key to building trustworthy AI assistants for schools.
Drucker discussed cooperation on specialised training focused on using advanced AI tools in education with representatives of tech company NVIDIA. The goal is to make cutting-edge technologies accessible to Slovak schools and universities so that teachers and students can use them effectively every day.
The minister also visited the University of California, San Diego, where representatives shared their experience with AI and recommendations for its use in education. They expressed interest in further cooperation with Slovak universities, including exchange programmes and sharing information resources.
Drucker also took part in a discussion on cyber-security in schools and the digitisation of education that was organised by ESET's US headquarters in cooperation with local universities and private-sector experts.
