Government to Deal with Draft Amendment to Expand Kurzarbeit

Bratislava, 28 May (TASR) - Firms could receive support from the state in connection with US tariffs, as the government is expected to approve an amendment to the law on the system called kurzarbeit (short-time work) at its regular session on Wednesday. The amendment, sponsored by the Labour Ministry, should expand external factors for its application to include unforeseen emergencies. At the same time, Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) Cabinet should ask Parliament to deal with it via a short-track legislative procedure. The government is also scheduled to discuss a proposal for the organisational arrangements related to the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in the 2021-2028 programming period, submitted by the Investment Ministry. ko
