Matovic: Sutaj Estok Reaches Level of Andrej Danko

Bratislava, 27 May (TASR) - Coalition parties distrust each other over the law proposals vetoed by President Peter Pellegrini, which is why they postponed them to the end of the current session, said opposition MP and 'Slovakia' party leader Igor Matovic, adding that Voice-SD leader and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok is contradicting himself as his MPs initially voted for the legislation but now refuse to override the president's veto. "Sutaj Estok has reached the level of Andrej Danko [SNS leader], who also first approves and votes for the transaction tax, and then suddenly acts like it's some kind of threat. Soon he'll be saying, ‘Who even approved this?’" Matovic said. Sutaj Estok stated on Tuesday that the Voice-SD party plans to support the president's vetoes on two bills, including that of the proposed special pension for the Prosecutor-General, arguing that the special pension should apply to ordinary prosecutors as it does for police and firefighters, and that the party also understands the president's concerns about the COVID amnesties. lin
