MP Frantisek Miklosko: Inclination towards Authoritarian Regimes Dangerous

Bratislava, 27 May (TASR) - Inclination towards authoritarian regimes is dangerous, and Slovak Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is giving others the example of Vietnam, which kidnapped its own citizen using a Slovak government plane, MP Frantisek Miklosko (Christian Democrats/KDH) told a news conference on Tuesday. "What does Robert Fico allow himself? Whom does he represent? If it suits his own voters, then that's only 20 percent of the current spectrum of society," said Miklosko, adding that the totalitarian regime of the former Czechoslovakia had 70,000 political prisoners. "We are protesting against this, and just as we were standing on stages in November 1989 [during the Velvet Revolution - ed. note], Slovakia still has the potential to stand there and to defend democracy if the situation is serious," stated Miklosko. ko/df
