Sasko Will Discuss Issue of Mobile Hospices at Expert Level

Bratislava, 23 May (TASR) - I know about the problems connected with the functioning of mobile hospices, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) told a press conference on Friday in response to a journalist's question, declaring that he'll discuss a solution at a professional level. The issue was pointed to this week by representatives of mobile hospices, the Slovak Towns Union (UMS) and the opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party The minister stated that he had also discussed the issue with experts on Friday. "We agreed on further procedure, again on a professional level and with those concerned, we're also going to look at this problem," he said. Platform of helping organisations - Not Forgotten calls for better funding for mobile hospices, pointing out that currently mobile hospice care in Slovakia is systemically underfunded and dependent on the dedication of doctors and nurses. The platform is also supported by UMS, which has pointed to the current shortage of such medical facilities and the increasingly unaffordable hospice care in Slovakia. In the same vein, SaS on Friday called on the minister to set up systemic and dignified funding for mobile hospices. am
