Blanar: Visit to Morocco Confirms Beginning of New Era of Cooperation

Casablanca, 23 May (TASR-correspondent) - My visit to Morocco has confirmed the beginning of a new era of cooperation between Slovakia and Morocco, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) has said during his visit to Morocco, adding that the two countries are interested in expanding bilateral and political relations as well as economic activities. "Morocco is already Slovakia's largest trading partner in Africa. Our mutual trade is constantly growing, and it exceeded €660 million last year. Just as Slovakia can be a gateway for investors and entrepreneurs to the European Union, Morocco can be a gateway for Slovak companies and investments in Africa," said Blanar. The minister further highlighted the common views of the countries on various international issues, noting, for example, that Slovakia and Morocco expressed their mutual support in terms of candidacy to the UN Security Council, in which both countries are seeking the position of a non-permanent member for 2028-2029. am/df
