Bratislava, 23 May (TASR) - Branislav Balogh, previously a manager for the promotion and dissemination of Slovak literature in the foreign projects department at the Slovak Literary Centre (SLC), was appointed to head this institution on a temporary basis on Friday, TASR has learnt from Balogh himself.
Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) on Thursday (22 May) dismissed Gustav Murin from his post as acting director general of SLC.
In April, the SLC staff sent a letter to the Culture Ministry requesting Murin's removal from his post as director. The reason was a report from the ministry's supervisory department, which confirmed the validity of employee complaints about Murin's inappropriate and bullying behaviour, which was damaging the institution's reputation. Murin argued that the content of the employees' complaints were sharply at odds with the exceptionally good results achieved by the centre under his leadership in the first quarter of 2025.
