Ningbo, 23 May (TASR) - House Chair Richard Rasi (Smer-SD) continued his visit to China by officially opening Slovakia's national pavilion at the 4th China-CEEC EXPO (China–Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation) on Thursday in the eastern city of Ningbo, held alongside the International Consumer Goods Fair, TASR has learnt from the House's communications department. According to Rasi, the EXPO in Ningbo is "a space for shared ambitions, a platform of trust and future cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China, which holds enormous potential, whether in terms of interregional connectivity, research support, intermodal transport, or agri-industrial innovation". "Today, Slovakia is showcasing not only its economic capacities but also the values that are part of our national identity: quality, sustainability, innovation, and respect for tradition," said the Slovak house chair in his speech at the official opening of the fair. "Our companies are ready to grow, innovate, and invest, and I believe that during this fair we'll find new partners, customers, and friends," he noted. Rasi noted that China is Slovakia's largest Asian trading partner and pointed to the significant trade deficit, emphasising that Slovakia's primary interest is to develop mutual cooperation in a balanced and sustainable way. "Slovakia is interested not only in imports but also in significantly increasing the presence of Slovak products and technologies on the Chinese market," he added. On Thursday afternoon (22 May), Rasi officially opened the Slovak national pavilion at the China EXPO. Organised under the auspices of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), the pavilion features 44 Slovak entities from the fields of food production, technology, and design, as well as Slovak universities and leading tech companies. lin
