Rasi: We Appreciate China's Efforts for Peaceful Settlement of Conflicts

Beijing, 20 May (TASR) - During a meeting on Monday, Parliamentary Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, and praised China's efforts to constructively contribute to ending conflicts and achieving peaceful resolutions, TASR has learnt from Slovak Parliament Office's communications department. "We appreciate China's efforts to constructively contribute to ending conflicts and achieving peaceful resolutions in many crisis areas around the world. Slovakia supports any initiative that can bring us closer to peace," Rasi stated during the meeting. During the meeting, they also discussed the war in Ukraine. In this context, Rasi expressed support for the peace initiative by China and Brazil in an effort to resolve the ongoing conflict. "The Chinese side presented their peace proposal, developed in collaboration with Brazil, which calls for extraordinary diplomatic efforts aimed at getting all parties involved to the negotiation table as soon as possible. The goal of the proposal is to reach a specific agreement through a pragmatic approach," stated Rasi. "It's essential that Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as well as the EU and the USA as global powers, participate in the dialogue. The Chinese side has declared its willingness to play an active role in this process alongside other countries, not only to open negotiations but also to bring them to a successful conclusion," the Slovak house chair noted. lin
