Bratislava, 20 May (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini on Wednesday (21 May) will appoint the new head of the Supreme Court at the Presidential Palace, the President's Office's communications department told TASR on Tuesday, adding that the Judicial Council elected Frantisek Mozner in April as a candidate for the post of chairman of the court's penal collegium.
Mozner will replace Jan Sikuta, whose term expires on Tuesday. In his presentation before the Judicial Council he declared that it is crucial for him to ensure that the Supreme Court is stabilised in terms of its personnel. He sees a need to increase the number of assistants, pointing to their high turnover. According to him, non-financial benefits should also be provided to court employees, but he added that the group of judges at the Supreme Court is stable.
