Central Crisis Management Team to Meet on Tuesday to Discuss Foot-and-mouth

Bratislava, 19 May (TASR) - The central crisis management team is scheduled to meet on Tuesday (20 May) to discuss the foot-and-mouth outbreaks and to assess the current state of the disease in Slovakia, said Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) on Monday. "Tomorrow, a central crisis management team will be convened to assess the situation, I believe that we'll have positive news for you after that," said the minister. The State Veterinary and Food Administration will ease some measures against the spread of foot-and-mouth disease as of Wednesday (21 May). Among other things, vets have lifted the ban on transporting susceptible animals throughout Slovakia and allowed all zoos to open. am/df
