ARDAL: Slovakia Borrows almost €607 million in May Government Bond Auction

Bratislava, 19 May (TASR) - Slovakia has borrowed almost €607 million in May's auction of government bonds, with total demand from investors reaching €1.626 billion, the Debt and Liquidity Management Agency (ARDAL) announced on Monday.
ARDAL sold four kinds of bonds with maturity dates ranging from 2028 to 2035. The average yield in accepted bids ranged between 2.3 percent p.a. and 3.5 percent p.a.
Slovakia obtained the highest sum (€204 million) from a sale of bonds with a maturity date in 2033. Investor demand in the auction totalled €496.9 million. The average accepted yield on maturity stood at 3.3218 percent p.a.
Another auction of bonds maturing in 2031 brought in an additional €146 million, with total demand from investors reaching €390 million. The average accepted yield in this case stood at 2.9902 percent p.a.
Bonds with the shortest maturity date (in 2028) brought €135.8 million into state coffers, with demand totalling €298.8 million and the average yield at 2.2945 percent p.a.
The state gained the lowest sum from bonds with the longest maturity period, ending in 2035. Bonds worth €121 million were sold at an average accepted yield of 3.4744 percent, with total investor demand of €440.4 million.
Slovakia borrowed €634.5 million in the regular monthly government bond auction in April, with total demand from investors being almost 2.5 times as high. The average yield in accepted bids ranged between 2.1 percent and 4 percent.
