Bratislava/Handlova, May 17 (TASR) - Slovak and Czech emergency medical services will engage in cooperation in border areas, according to a framework agreement between the two countries on cross-border cooperation in emergency medical services, which was approved by the Slovak government at its away-from-home session in Handlova on Thursday (May 15).
According to the Health Ministry, the agreement aims to make emergency medical services in border regions as accessible as possible.
"The agreement will apply to the border areas of Bratislava, Trnava, Trencin, and Zilina regions in Slovakia, and the South Moravian, Zlin, and Moravian-Silesian regions in the Czech Republic," the Health Ministry clarified.
Under the terms of the agreement, the service will be provided in cases of mass casualties or to people in a critical condition.
