Bratislava, May 16 (TASR) - Chair of the 'For the People' party Veronika Remisova is repeating the same unfounded accusations and misleading the public, said Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) on Friday in response to Remisova's statements made earlier on the same day, adding that instead of a factual discussion, she's engaging in political theatrics with the sole aim of making herself visible. "The Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry rejects the politicisation of EU funds. If anyone has reasonable suspicions, they should refer them to the relevant authorities. We've always declared that anyone who makes mistakes will be held fully responsible. At the same time, we're cleaning up after past governments and taking measures to increase transparency and control over the use of aid," said the head of the Agriculture Ministry. The 'For the People' party announced on Friday that it is filing a complaint with the European Prosecutor's Office over allegations of unjustified use of EU funds as part of subsidies provided by the Agricultural Payment Agency (PPA). Veronika Remisova drew attention to new findings in the case of companies that have allegedly received tens of millions from EU funds intended for rural development under Smer-SD governments. am/df
