Stats Office: New Orders in Industry Up 11.1 percent Y-o-Y in March 2025

Bratislava, May 16 (TASR) - New orders in Slovak industry went up by 11.1 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €5.98 billion in March 2025, the Statistics Office reported on Friday, adding that this was the fastest growth seen since October 2023. After seasonal adjustments, new orders in industry decreased by 0.3 percent month-on-month (m-o-m) in March. Seven of the 12 monitored branches posted y-o-y increases in volumes of orders in March. Significant growth was recorded in orders in the production of motor vehicles, semi-trailers and trailers (up 19.4 percent), in the production and processing of metals (7.8 percent), and in the production of computer, electronic and optical products (14 percent). Conversely, y-o-y declines in new industrial orders were reported in the production of electric appliances (down 14.6 percent), in the production of metal structures (3.5 percent), and in the clothing production (25.1 percent). ko
