Rasi: Establishing Peace Challenge for Entire Political Scene

Bratislava, May 15 (TASR) - The assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) last year showed how far hatred can go, Parliamentary Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) posted on a social network on Thursday, calling for calm, respect and dialogue. Rasi believes that establishing peace is a challenge for the entire political scene. "Today, more than ever, we're aware of how divided Slovak society is and how far hatred towards other opinions or politics can go. It is up to each of us to contribute to reconciliation because a society that is inward-looking has no chance of moving forward," he emphasised. The parliamentary head stated that hate mustn't be a political agenda for Slovakia. He thinks that less theatrical gestures and challenges and more everyday decency and respect will lead to reconciliation and the calming of society. am/df
