Bratislava, May 14 (TASR) - Chairman of the parliamentary caucus of the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party Martin Dubeci has requested to attend Thursday's (May 15) meeting of the Security Council. Dubeci addressed the request to Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD). He pointed out that the council should address polarisation and an imminent danger to constitutional officials, and so he thinks that the whole political spectrum should be informed about the issue given its seriousness. "I can also see growing polarisation in society and its negative effects. As a parliamentary caucus chairman, I'm aware of the threats that this situation poses not only to the representatives of our political movement, but also to the entire political spectrum. By virtue of my position, I have repeatedly been in contact with the relevant security forces and the leadership of Parliament, drawing attention to the specific and systematic risks that we face across the entire political spectrum," he said. An extraordinary session of the Security Council is set to be held on Thursday. The meeting was announced by the premier due to what he sees as an increase in hate speech, physical conflicts in public and the high likelihood of another attack on a public official. am/df
