Bratislava, May 14 (TASR) - Less than two months after the launch of the 'Become a Police Officer' recruitment campaign, more than 3,200 applicants have applied to join the Police Corps, and many of them have already completed the admission process, including physical and psychological tests, TASR learnt from Interior Ministry spokesperson Matej Neumann on Wednesday.
The campaign was launched by the Interior Ministry in March of this year.
"For the entire year of 2024, a total of 4,500 people applied to join the police force, so this positive trend — 3,200 applications in just two months — makes me very happy. It's proof that the changes that we've introduced, as well as the campaign itself, make sense to the general public and have resonated with them," said Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD).
The campaign is part of the ministry’s broader strategy to strengthen the staffing levels of the Police Corps, which is currently facing a shortage of 3,500 officers across Slovakia.
