Stats: Nominal Salaries Up Y-o-Y in All Sectors of Economy in March 2025

Bratislava, May 13 (TASR) - Average nominal monthly salaries posted year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in all ten sectors monitored in March 2025, albeit with the growth in most of them slower than in the previous month, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday. The growth rate in nominal salaries ranged between 1.9 percent in wholesale and 7.1 percent in accommodation. Real salaries (adjusted for inflation) grew in six of the ten monitored branches, with the fastest growth seen in accommodation (3 percent) and in retail (2.2 percent). Conversely, employees engaged in the sale and repairs of vehicles, industry, wholesale and selected market services saw declines of between 1 and 2 percent in their real salaries. The lowest average nominal salaries of €811 were received by people employed in pubs and restaurants. Average nominal salaries in construction rose to €1,100, while those in accommodation fell by €5 from February to €1,200 in March. Employees engaged in the IT sector enjoyed the highest average salaries, which grew to €2,879 in March. The second-highest average salaries were received by people engaged in wholesale. In the first three months of 2025, meanwhile, nominal salaries rose in all ten monitored sectors, with real growth seen by eight of them. Real growth ranged between 0.3 percent in industry and 4.3 percent in accommodation.
