Taraba: Charges Pressed against Former Minister More Than Clear Case

Bratislava, May 12 (TASR) - The indictment of former environment minister J.B. (name abbreviated due to legal reasons) is a case that is "more than clear", current head of the Environment Ministry Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) posted on a social network on Monday. "When I came to the ministry, I found the modus operandi, that works were taken over but invoices weren't paid. After months, the invoices were suddenly paid, but with a huge penalty, which increased the final price of the work," stated Taraba, adding that such unjustified delay in invoice payment caused damages amounting to nearly €600,000. The police on Tuesday charged J.B. with the ongoing crime of violating obligations in the management of somebody else's property in connection with an inefficient, wasteful and purposeless use of Environment Ministry funds.
