Bratislava, May 10 (TASR) - Slovaks' enthusiasm for online shopping remains high, with nine out of ten consumers shopping online an average of five to six times a month, which is above the European average, according to the latest survey by Mastercard. Payment cards remain the dominant method for online shopping, though digital wallets are gaining popularity and 44 percent of people now use retailers' mobile apps. "Slovaks are among the top online shoppers in Europe. They mostly buy clothing, electronics, and household goods. Customers particularly value the convenience, speed, and security that online shopping offers. Mastercard has long focused on making the payment process as simple and secure as possible – that's why we're actively developing payment methods such as Click to Pay that save customers time and provide the highest level of security," said General Manager of Mastercard for Slovakia and the Czech Republic Jana Lvova. The growing popularity of digital wallets, including Click to Pay, reflects customers' increasing focus on security, while barriers to online payments include the time-consuming process of entering card details and reluctance to save card information with retailers. "By 2030, we aim to completely eliminate the need to manually enter card numbers, which won't only only make online payments faster, but even more secure, added Lvova. lin/mf
