Trencin: Exhibition beneath Municipal Tower Presents Photos Taken at End of War

Trencin, May 9 (TASR) - An exhibition called '1945: Trencin at the End of the War', presenting period photographs from the end of WWII and the liberation of Trencin, has been set up by the city hall on Peace Square beneath the Municipal Tower near the city hall building, TASR learnt from Trencin spokeswoman Erika Sagova on Friday. "The exhibition displays images of the city from the final years of the war, testimonies from local newspapers and the diary entries of Jozef Branecky, a writer, priest and committed resident of the city. Destroyed bridges and buildings, soldiers in the streets - all this happened 80 years ago in our city, on the streets on which we walk today," said the spokeswoman. The exhibition was located in a public space so that all passers-by could see it. It will remain in place until May 19. ko/df
