Takac: May Leo XIV's Papacy Be Filled with Wisdom and Courage

Bratislava, May 9 (TASR) - Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) has expressed his hope on social media that the pontificate of Leo XIV will be filled with wisdom, courage and inner strength, qualities the world so desperately needs. Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenicky (Smer-SD) also reacted to the election of the new pope, stating his hope that Leo XIV will be a messenger of peace. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) made a similar statement. "In the Sistine Chapel today, the cardinals elected a new pope, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost. This once again represents hope for a papacy marked by faith in goodness, understanding, unity and mutual respect. It's also a papacy calling for peace, just as Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II did, because war is the greatest evil of humanity, and the fight for peace is a fight for life," said Blanar.
