Nova Bosac, May 8 (TASR) - May 8 should be a day of remembrance of the heroes who fought for our future and made it possible for us to stand here today as free people, said Interior Minister and coalition Voice-SD party leader Matus Sutaj Estok, after laying a wreath at the Fallen Soldiers Memorial in the village of Nova Bosaca Grun (Trencin region). "Today cannot be claimed by Russia, Ukraine or any other country. Today belongs to all nations and all the heroes who fought and together turned their courage into the defeat of fascism. Today also belongs to us, Slovaks, and that's why we're here, in Slovakia. We didn't go to Moscow or Ukraine. Today isn't about pleasing the East or the West for us Slovaks, but about honouring the memory of all those who gave their lives for our freedom," emphasised Sutaj Estok. The 80th anniversary of the end of WWII was commemorated in Nova Bosaca on Thursday morning by the Voice-SD party, with the participation of House Chair Richard Rasi, party ministers, MPs and party members. lin/df
