Prague, May 7 (TASR-correspondent) - Slovakia's aim is to resume intergovernmental consultations with the Czech Republic, which are a manifestation of the countries' above-standard relations, Parliamentary Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) said during his visit to Prague, adding that the cooperation between the countries is fully functioning.
"I was careful not to interfere in the ongoing election campaign with my statements, because I wouldn't consider it to be correct. That's why I held all the meetings officially with the most senior constitutional officials because Czech representatives will decide who will be in the government. But I think the issue of intergovernmental meetings or joint government sessions will return after the election," said Rasi, claiming that there should be meetings between the Slovak and Czech governments because the republics belong to each other also at this working level.
The Slovak House chair also pointed out that the representatives of the Czech Republic and Slovakia want the war to end in a sustainable peace. "Even though we may sometimes have different statements and attitudes, this goal is common, and then we'll get to those meetings," he said.
