Prague, May 7 (TASR-correspondent) - Prime Minister Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) planned visit to Moscow is his sovereign decision but will also serve as his visiting card, stated the Czech Republic's Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova following a meeting with Slovak House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) in Prague. Rasi considers the visit to be a decision of the prime minister and the chairman of the strongest coalition party in Slovakia Smer-SD. "I regret that he isn't commemorating these events on SNP Square in Bratislava but prefers to be on Red Square and watch a parade that will be attended by those who are attacking innocent Ukrainians today," said Pekarova Adamova, adding that no one disputes the historical facts, events and the important role of the Russian army in the liberation during WWII. Rasi stated that he'll commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War at as many memorials as possible in Slovakia. "I don't question historical facts, and I'd be happy if nobody questioned them. The Slovak Republic was liberated mainly thanks to the soldiers of the Red Army. But my decision is to honour the memory of these people in Slovakia, and I consider that to be right," said the parliamentary chair. Prime Minister Fico is due to attend the celebrations in Moscow on May 9 marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. He has already announced in advance that he wants to pay tribute to the thousands of Red Army soldiers who were killed during the liberation of Slovakia, as well as to the millions of other victims of the "Nazi rampage". am/df
