Liberation80: National Celebrations to Be Accompanied by Security Measures

Piestany, May 7 (TASR) - During the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Day of Victory over Fascism at Piestany airport on May 8 the participants will be prohibited from bringing certain items and must adhere to various security measures to ensure that the event passes smoothly and safely, the Defence Ministry has stated on its website.
Each visitor must undergo a security check upon entering the premises, which also applies to luggage. Anyone who refuses to undergo a security check won't be allow to enter the premises. It's recommended to bring only essential items in luggage no larger than A3 size to avoid prolonging the security check.
Movement will only be allowed in areas designated for visitors.
Prohibited items include explosives, flammable substances, devices that could cause serious harm, fireworks, firearms (including toy guns), sharp objects, drones, aircraft, balloons and other flying devices. Glass bottles and containers (except those containing baby food), illegal substances, professional equipment without accreditation, banners, large umbrellas, balls, inflatable toys and musical instruments are also banned.
The celebrations will start at 10 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. A wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen and a presentation of the Slovak Army and military clubs will be held there.
President Peter Pellegrini, a government delegation, war veterans and the diplomatic corps of other countries operating in Slovakia are due to take part in the celebrations.
