Bratislava, May 7 (TASR) - Slovakia's general government deficit reached €6.9 billion last year to make up 5.27 percent of GDP. The result was better than the one approved in the budget, projecting the deficit at 5.97 percent of GDP, states the Finance Ministry in the draft final state account of the Slovak Republic for 2024 due to be discussed by the Cabinet at its session on Wednesday.
The agenda of the session also includes a draft amendment to the social insurance law, submitted by the Labour Ministry.
The government should also deal with several informative reports, including the one on the development of the health sector debt in 2024. The debt amounted to €810 million last year, with the highest liabilities after maturity being again reported by state-run university and faculty hospitals.
