Bratislava, May 6 (TASR) - The opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) have called on Defence Minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD) to explain to the public in a transparent manner how the new national hospital in Bratislava will be financed. KDH MPs want to discuss the issue of the hospital's financing at an extraordinary session of the parliamentary health committee. "We have clear questions for Defence Minister Robert Kalinak, who is the main builder of hospitals. Slovak patients are asking the minister to disclose from what sources the new end hospital in Bratislava will be funded, whether the purchase of land belonging to Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Voice-SD) and Mr Sako will be included in the construction project, and what will happen to the land in the Razsochy area that was expropriated in the past for the purpose of building the hospital," said MP Peter Stachura in the party's statement. A new National University Hospital named after General Milan Rastislav Stefanik should be built on the Defence Ministry's land in the Bratislava borough of Vajnory. The construction of the hospital is to be financed from the recovery plan, 2 percent of defence spending and to a lesser extent from the state budget. The plan is to start the construction work this year. am/df
