Sutaj Estok: If Media Move Political Debates to Another Day, I'll Respect It

Bratislava, May 5 (TASR) - Politicians shouldn't bother Slovakia with arguments on Sundays, stated coalition Voice-SD party leader and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok, who argues that no country has such a tradition of Sunday debate shows and that he would respect it if the media decided to move them to another day.
"We shouldn't burden Slovakia with politics, especially those endless arguments. Things would be calmer. I could finish the Lego I'm building with my son. I don't know of any country in the world or Europe that has such shows scheduled this way, but it's not within the power of politicians," said Sutaj Estok in response to Premier Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) call in an interview with TASR.
If the media decide to move the debates to another day, not a holiday, Sutaj Estok will fully respect this. "But until then, just as I have communicated openly with you so far, I will continue to do so," added the Voice-SD leader.
On Sunday (May 4), Fico stated that he's ready to sign an agreement with all party leaders to cancel Sunday political debate shows, saying they should be broadcast on a weekday evening instead.
