Bratislava, May 4 (TASR) - I'll honour the memory of Milan Rastislav Stefanik at the airport from which he took off for the last time, President Peter Pellegrini posted on a social network on Sunday, adding that Stefanik built bridges between nations and managed to use them for the benefit of his homeland, which should be an inspiration today. "Milan Rastislav Stefanik, with his diplomatic talent, his ability to seek alliances with strong players of the time, backed by military strategy, made a fundamental contribution to the setting up of the common state of Slovaks and Czechs. He was a great diplomat, scientist, aviator, visionary and statesman," he stressed. Stefanik, one of co-founders of Czechoslovakia in 1918 and its first and last minister of war, was killed with his entire crew when his Caproni Ca.33 biplane crashed near Ivanka pri Dunaji (Bratislava region) on May 4, 1919. am
