Informatics and IT Faculty Launches New Bachelor's Programme in English

Bratislava, May 3 (TASR) - The Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies (FIIT) of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is launching a new bachelor's programme in English from the academic year 2025/2026, the faculty told TASR, adding that this is a significant step towards internationalisation and further improvement of the quality of education. The faculty also celebrated 20 years of the IIT.SRC student scientific conference. "IIT.SRC is proof that our students are not only experts in technology, but also creative innovators and future leaders. We're proud of their achievements and we're convinced that thanks to their work Slovak IT will be even stronger," said FIIT dean Ivan Kotuliak. The 20th year of the conference attracted 123 student contributions, from which the expert committee selected the best 80 for presentation. The projects were produced across all three levels of study and reflected current research trends at the faculty - from generative artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity to digital systems design and smart technologies. am/mcs
