Kosice, May 2 (TASR) - The Krasnogvardejci Military History Club (KVH) tries to study history in detail before every presentation of its activities in order to be as authentic as possible, club's chairman Jaroslav Hodik told TASR, adding that they also try to educate the public in this way.
In addition to the demonstrations of World War II battles, they also take care of the graves of fallen soldiers.
Hodik said that the Krasnogvardejci KVH is one of the oldest and largest clubs in Slovakia. It currently has 22 active members from around Slovakia, including three women. "We used to be a club focused on the Soviet army. Over time, we expanded to all armies that fought during World War II," he said. Their collection includes Slovak, German, Russian and Romanian uniforms, for example. They also represent partisan units. As for weapons, they use original ones that were used during World War II but have been modified so that they can no longer fire live ammunition.
