PS: Construction of New Hospital Unlikely Realistic

Bratislava, April 30 (TASR) - The new national hospital, like last time, remains nothing more than an unrealistic concept, with its construction through the Defence Ministry also posing a problem, according to a statement sent to TASR by the PS media department on Wednesday.
"They [the government] have been in power for a year and a half, and during that time, they have proposed three different locations for the new hospital, yet they haven't even bothered to create a medical plan for Bratislava. Today, the government again failed to approve anything specific. The new hospital, just like the last time, remains just a distant dream. We can only hope that this location is the final one," said parliamentary health committee vice-chair Oskar Dvorak (PS).
According to parliamentary foreign affairs committee head Tomas Valasek (PS), another problem with the hospital is its construction through the Defence Ministry. "In times of conflict, such a hospital could become an accidental target. I don't understand why the ministry would expose its own citizens to such a risk," Valasek added.
A member of the opposition party 'Slovakia' also commented on the construction of the new hospital. Former health minister and MP Marek Krajci, reiterated that he doesn't consider the chosen location in Vajnory to be suitable. He highlighted the high water table, the flight path, and poor transport accessibility as major issues. He also considers the health-care staff required for a hospital of this scale to be a huge problem.
