Mala Lehota, April 30 (TASR) - The government will support the projects and investment needs of municipalities and institutions operating in the districts of Zarnovica and Banska Stiavnica (Banska Bystrica region) with more than €1.5 million. At its away-from-home session held in the village of Mala Lehota in Pohronie area on Wednesday, the government decided on allocation of €1.616 million, which also includes €60,000 for projects in the district of Banska Bystrica. The cabinet opened the session with an analysis of the socio-economic situation and selected problems of the Banska Stiavnica and Zarnovica districts and proposals for improvements. Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) praised the constructive negotiations held in the attendance of local government representatives. He stated that the accessibility of water supply and sewage networks dominated the discussion on the region's development. "The mayors also asked us again to revise the public procurement law, which they claim is becoming a major obstacle to drawing funds," stressed Fico. The government in its resolution allocated the money for the projects of towns and villages, such as building reconstructions, support for sports activities, extension of capacities of retirement and social-care homes, roads, sewage networks, organisation of various events etc. As part of the resolution it approved tasks for individual ministries to be carried out in the area. ko/mcs
