Bratislava, April 29 (TASR) - The Supreme Court has remanded in custody Daniel B. (name abbreviated due to legal reasons), who is accused of extremist criminal activity.
The reason is the fear of continued criminal activity. Tuesday's decision is final. A prosecutor of the serious crime department of the Prosecutor-General's Office proposed Daniel B.'s custody for failure to fulfil obligations, or rather, violation of restrictions that the Supreme Court had previously imposed on the defendant.
Senate head Dana Wankeova stated that the court had already established the reasons for the custody in February, which it then replaced with supervision by a probation and mediation officer and other obligations and restrictions. According to her, the court thoroughly analysed each of the published posts of the accused, which were submitted by the prosecutor. "He published posts of a hateful nature," she stated.
Police arrested the accused, Daniel B., on April 16. In the past, three arrest warrants had been issued against him. He was extradited from the United Kingdom to Slovakia under strict security measures at the end of January, and the prosecutor subsequently filed a motion to prosecute him in custody.
