Bratislava, April 29 (TASR) - The Slovak Hospitals Association (ANS) on Monday (April 28) agreed on temporary framework contracts with health insurance companies, association representatives told TASR on Tuesday, stressing, however, that hospital funding still needs to be increased.
The talks on the additional funding should continue in the second and third quarters of this year, according to ANS.
The ANS further stated that through the talks they succeeded in negotiating temporary framework agreements, which managed to ensure funding of €85 million for ANS members. They noted that although this is an increase compared to the original proposal of €60 million, a further increase is still necessary, as ANS estimates the total need for this year at more than €130 million. "Representatives of the Health Ministry are aware that the resources of the current health-care system do not cover the needs of our members, and therefore the Health Ministry promised that we'll continue negotiations on additional funding in the second and third quarters of 2025," said ANS first vice-president Igor Pramuk.
