Bratislava, April 29 (TASR) - House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) received Hungarian Ambassador to Slovakia Csaba Balogh at Parliament on Tuesday, with both sides expressing interest in further strengthening good neighbourly relations, TASR was told by the Parliament Office's communications department on the same day.
"It's my interest to meet first and foremost with the ambassadors of neighbouring countries in order to support regional cooperation and thus strengthen relations between Slovakia and its closest neighbours," Rasi said at the meeting. In this regard, he also informed the ambassador about the preparations for his first official visit with the highest constitutional officials in Budapest, which is due to take place in May.
The joint discussion also focused on current issues, including Hungary's upcoming presidency of the Visegrad Four (V4 - the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and the results of Monday's (April 28) official visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Slovakia.
The parliamentary head also highlighted the need for investments in joint projects, the importance of the Slovak-Hungarian intergovernmental commission in the field of cross-border cooperation, and praised the level of bilateral relations between the Slovak Republic and Hungary.
