Sutaj Estok: Over 2,500 People Already Registered to Join Police during Campaign

Trnava, April 28 (TASR) - During the current recruitment campaign, more than 2,500 candidates have already applied to join the police, Interior Minister and Voice-SD party chairman Matus Sutaj Estok told a press conference in Trnava on Monday, describing the increasing interest in working in the police as his priority. "That's why I'm also happy about the successful recruitment campaign we launched more than a month ago," stressed Sutaj Estok, talking about record numbers compared to 2024. The police registered 4,500 candidates during the whole of last year. The 'Become a Police Officer' recruitment campaign is being supplied to the ministry by Good Rutt's. It costs almost €140,000. It is intended to help address the staffing levels in the Police Corps, which, according to a recent statement by the interior minister, is currently short of around 3,700 police officers. am/mcs
