Revuca Mayor Crashes into House Fence while Driving under Influence

Revuca, March 7 (TASR) - Revuca mayor Julius Buchta was involved in a traffic accident on Thursday (March 6) when he crashed into the fence of a house, injuring nobody, but he was found to have more than 1 part per thousand of alcohol in his blood, three independent sources have confirmed for TASR.
The traffic accident took place at about 4 p.m. on Thursday. "The driver of the car was on Tajovskeho Street in Revuca (Banska Bystrica region), not paying full attention to the traffic, when he crashed into the fence of a house," spokeswoman for Banska Bystrica region police Maria Faltaniova has told TASR.
The mayor underwent a breathalyser test following the accident, which showed 1.31 parts per thousand of alcohol in his blood. The police have charged him with committing the offence of endangerment under the influence. "After carrying out procedural actions, the police put him in a detention cell. The traffic accident is being investigated," added Faltaniova.
Buchta has been serving as Revuca mayor since 2018, and previously he occupied the post of its vice-mayor. He is also a councillor in Banska Bystrica Regional Authority.
