Bratislava, February 5 (TASR) - Slovakia ranks fifth in the European Commission's assessment of the use of funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan and is one of the top performers in the EU, said Vice-premier for the Recovery Plan and Knowledge-based Economy Peter Kmec (Voice-SD) before the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, adding that although some measures need to be revised, the sixth and seventh payment requests should be submitted this year.
"The European Commission has carried out an assessment of individual member states. Slovakia is in fifth place, so we're still among the best in terms of drawing from the recovery plan. Partly because of unresolved problems we're going to carry out a revision, but I'm convinced that we'll manage the sixth and seventh requests for payment this year," said Kmec, adding that there are about 20 unresolved issues that are currently being addressed. "There are some bits in red, but we're working with those who are implementing this to fill in the gaps as quickly as possible. So, I'm very optimistic that the recovery plan will be met," emphasised Kmec.
