Bratislava, September 6 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini handed over on Friday the letters of credence to two new Slovak ambassadors: Peter Hulenyi who's to become the head of the Slovakia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and new head of Slovakia's Permanent Representation to the EU Juraj Nociar. "You're leaving to represent Slovakia in the EU and UN. Both organisation are crucial from the point of view of the country that promotes multilateralism and international cooperation. Therefore, it's of paramount importance that our country will be represented in both posts by seasoned diplomats," Pellegrini said in his speech. Pellegrini added that the new Ambassador to UN will face a challenge to acquire and carry out a mandate of the 2028-29 Non-permanent Members of the UN Security Council, which would pose an opportunity for Slovakia to promote its priorities. The head of state also underlined the importance of the post of the Ambassador to the EU. He pointed out that currently a new European Commission is being formed and it's essential for Nociar as the new ambassador to come up with innovative and inspiring solutions that will take priorities of Slovakia into account. mf
