Bratislava, July 11 (TASR) - The temperature reached over 37 degrees Celsius in some locations in Slovakia on Wednesday (July 10), with temperature highs being measured in the villages of Muzla in Nitra region and Slovensky Grob in Bratislava region, where 37.3 degrees Celsius was recorded, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) posted on a social network on Thursday.
Thirty-seven degrees Celsius was also measured at the Mochovce (Nitra region) and Somotor (Kosice region) stations. "The latter station is also the best candidate for the longest series of very hot days with temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius because a drifting cold front is occasionally affecting the weather on our territory from the west, and it is in the Zemplin area that its influence will be felt least," noted SHMU.
It was also very warm in the more mountainous areas in the north on Wednesday. "Thirty-three to thirty-four degrees Celsius were also measured locally in the Kysuce, Orava, Liptov, Turiec and Horehronie areas, and almost in the Spis area," added the institute.
