Election24: Candidates Submitted Campaign Expenditures for Inspection

Bratislava, May 7 (TASR) - All the presidential candidates submitted reports on their campaign expenditures within the legal deadline, TASR learnt from the Interior Ministry's press department on Tuesday. According to the reports, Andrej Danko spent almost €27,859, Patrik Dubovsky €583, Krisztian Forro more than €100,575, Stefan Harabin almost €57,755, Ivan Korcok over €499,922, Marian Kotleba north of €8,036, Jan Kubis almost €139,899, Peter Pellegrini over €499,451 and Robert Svec €4,498. Igor Matovic and Milan Nahlik both claimed to have spent no money on campaigning whatsoever. The maximum limit was €500,000. The Interior Ministry added that if a candidate exceeded the limit, fines can be imposed at double the sum exceeding the threshold. In addition, the Interior Ministry can impose fines of €2,000-30,000 for failure to meet any legal obligations specified by the law. The 2024 presidential election was won in the run-off round by Peter Pellegrini. mf/mcs
