Danko Counts on Parliament's Support in Holiday Vouchers' Transfer to Parents

Bratislava, April 24 (TASR) - Slovak National Party (SNS) leader Andrej Danko told a news conference on Wednesday that a bill on transferring holiday vouchers to parents, sponsored by SNS, won't be problematic and will have a sufficient support in Parliament. "I am positive that a proposal to enable employees to transfer holiday vouchers to their parents if they are not interested in using them on their own will have absolute support in Parliament," stated Danko. SNS suggests an exemption to the law, based on which employees would be able to shift holiday vouchers to their parents. It is necessary to amend the Labour Code and the law on tourism support for that. MPs for SNS have already submitted respective draft amendments to Parliament. By extending holiday vouchers' usability to other persons, SNS wants to maximise the use of holiday vouchers and intensify support for domestic tourism. In line with the currently valid legislation, a holiday voucher is issued to a private individual and isn't transferable. Employees working for a company for at least two years are eligible for it. A contribution for holiday equals 55 percent of eligible costs, but no more than €275 per calendar year. Holiday vouchers were introduced in 2019. Companies with more than 49 employees are obliged to provide employees with this contribution for holidays. ko/mcs
