Bratislava/Voderady/Surany, April 22 (TASR) - A company called InoBat, which develops innovative batteries for electric cars, announced on Monday that it's launched battery production in Voderady (Trnava region). Slovakia has thus became the fifth European country, after Sweden, Norway, Germany and France, to gain the ability to produce certified battery cells with European know-how. At the same time, InoBat obtained all the necessary certificates and began production of the first high-performance cells for the aviation industry. "We don't only manufacture batteries, we also create and tailor them to the needs of each customer. This procedure requires extraordinary knowledge and special skills, and I'm proud that we've managed to build it in Slovakia," said InoBat general director Marian Bocek. InoBat has hired dozens of additional operators and maintenance technicians from Slovakia in the past few months, retraining them with regards to modern and advanced technologies and complex procedures. InoBat currently employs an international team of experts from 18 countries. It was a combination of direct experience in battery technology and local talent that made it possible to create the first such retraining course in Slovakia, which will become the basis for a new profession - battery cell-production operator. "We want to educate top experts and professionals, and also give a chance to those who have worked in similar segments before," stated Bocek. According to him, the company plans to create a team that would not only be competitive on the market, but also able to present revolutionary and innovative products to customers. InoBat retrained its first workers at its existing research and development centre in Voderady, where a trial run for battery production was carried out. The company also intends to launch such educational and retraining programmes at a planned giga-factory in the town of Surany (Nitra region), a joint project between InoBat and Chinese company Gotion High-Tech (GIB - Gotion InoBat Batteries). The joint aim is to build a factory in Surany with a zero carbon footprint that would be the most modern not only in Europe, but even at the global level. GIB estimates that over 1,500 people will work at the factory. ko/df
