SaS: Draft Bill on Strategic Investment Designed for Coalition's Friends

Bratislava, April 17 (TASR) - The Transport Ministry's draft bill on strategic investment is flawed and it excessively interferes with property rights, the opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party said on Wednesday. The party at the same time warned that according to the bill the state will be held responsible for low-quality and overpriced projects instead of individuals at fault. SaS MP Maria Kolikova opined in this vein that the bill resembles a measure providing immunity to "friends" of the coalition parties who will carry out state contracts. "If this bill was written by lawyers of investors who want to escape responsibility, it would look no different," said Kolikova. SaS MP Ondrej Dostal warned that the bill excessively interferes with property rights and procedural rights of owners and participants in permitting procedures. SaS at the same time claimed that the bill restricts the control of public contracts in public procurement. zel
