Bratislava, April 17 (TASR) - Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) is to submit the necessary documents for the intention to merge the state-owned enterprises Water Management Construction (VV) and Slovak Water Management Company (SVP) to the government by the end of June, according to the proposal that will be discussed by the cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday. The topic is part of longer-term discussions on the possible merger of the state-run companies and the formation of a single entity that would comprehensively provide activities in the water management sector. At its 28th meeting, the government is also to decide on the launch of public procurement for the renovation of a command building in Banska Bystrica. The building, which is a national cultural monument, is to serve the employees of the Defence Ministry and soldiers after the reconstruction. The estimated cost of the renovation amounts to €12.8 million. The cabinet is also expected to approve the use of part of the nearly €29-million allocation approved in 2022 for the purchase of rescue helicopters. The Interior Ministry proposes to use the unspent €13-million amount for the expenses related to refugees from Ukraine, in particular a contribution to the accommodation of refugees. am
